Way back in 2000, I worked for a technology B2B advertising agency. While there I discovered some old polaroid film that had been sitting in the light for a while. I remember taking the pictures of my work colleagues then furiously manipulating the pictures in real-time, just before they would dry (died).
I love that the process happened quickly and that I had a limited time to produce the image. Not sure what my work colleagues thought of me at the time, but I had fun and still quite like some of these polaroid portraits.
Salvation Mountain
I remember turning up at Salvation Mountain sitting in the passenger seat of my mate's car. The spectacle of all the buildings was what at first grabbed me, all of the paint, the vehicles and weird constructions.
But, as I started to wonder around I noticed a guy sitting in the back of an old knackered car. I ambled over to say hi and discovered that it was Leonard Knight himself. When I asked him if I could take his photo he said: "yes, sure, just make sure you spread the word."
I have quite a few photos from that part of the trip but this is the only one that is unique. A few months later Leonard was placed in care.
Portraits from Bali
A few years back I took a trip over to Bali. These are some of the better portraits re-processed. The first shot (The Holy Springs of Tirta Empul. Mother and Child) feels very classic. The structure and form seems to embody early European religious painting.

Here are some more older files I’ve just found. These are more Landscape orientated. I always love looking back at older stuff to see what’s changed in the way that I see and think.
